DivKid - Zombie Remix EP

Following an online competition to remix the original track 'Zombie' by DivKid, Monsters Of Graveyard, Feedback, Becca and Shandrax have all won a release with DivKid and Lung Filler Records. The four tracks form a filthy electro EP with styles ranging from cut up dirty electro, electro-house and all out electrotrash. The 'Zombie Remix EP' will be the 25th release DivKid's own record label Lung Filler Records.

Kicking off the EP; Monsters Of Graveyard build tough drum sounds and chord hits across a DJ friendly intro, before breaking down into the original chord progression. Just as things seem to have calmed down, bit crushed glitches and stutters bring in the main melody line from the original track. From there on the track moves onto pitch bent, cut up nasty electro that's sure to get people jumping!

Next up we have Feedback, providing a heavily saturated electrotrash take on the track. The first synths hits are massive- hitting straight out filth with a dark and ghoulish feel to them. The track brings in haunting synths, heavily distorted bass hits and pitch bends to push the track forward. The main breakdown sticks true to the tracks title 'Zombie' providing more ghoulish textures and hits before the final peak.

Back onto cut up electro. Becca fuses elements of dirty cut up electro with elements of electro and progressive house by taking chordal elements and textures from the original track. He builds a DJ friendly intro and first breakdown, which moves into it's first peak. The first peak consists of elements of the original lead, chords and pitch bends that have all been re-sampled and mixed in with his own synth and bass hits, to form a tight groove that moves througout the track.

Wrapping up the EP, Shandrax builds the original chords and textures throughout the breakdown, always creating and diverting tension with the original dotted 8th note pattern running over the breaks. The peak hits with a bang, as new chord hits, bass wobbles and melody lines intertwine with the original pad sounds, to create a strong moving electro backdrop for the original chords.
