Press Release
Lung Filler Records - minimal : volume one

The 20th release for Lung FIller Records sees the label putting out it's first compilation release. 'minimal : volume one' focuses on the dark and spacious realms of minimal techno, from a range of artists that work closely with the label. Featuring three original tracks, along with three remixes of each track; the compilation has a strong and varied sound, while still remaining constant across the twelve tracks. The originals and remixes are intertwined to provide a journey through new sounds and styles that provides a selection of recurring themes that originate from the original tracks.

Monktec - Broken Moves
The original track is driving with the main focus on a moving bass sound, characterised by modulated swells and tighter synth hits. An echoing pluck sound moves across the foreground of the mix, as textures build and grow throughout.
Paul D Lewis provides a new take on the track with dark tension-building textures (which wouldn't be out of place in a horror movie), and grittier lo fi drums.
Electronic Beach uses the drums as the main focus for the drive in the track whilst keeping the textures and sounds more stripped back and spacious; leaving room for echoing hits and noises builds
Minimatronik builds new sounds, noises and textures over the existing bassline. While new percussion adds a new groove over the smooth arrangement.

Electronic Beach - Northern Lights
The original track fuses elements of electronica and techno into a stripped back lush soundscape that works perfectly over tightly programmed drums and percussion. The main synth hooks moves around the mix, panning and filtering throughout, which provides the perfect backdrop for changing textures and new melodies.
Mko DJ takes the track in a new direction with dark modulated textures building tension throughout. Sounds echo around the space in the mix while sharp, short percussion moves throughout.
Tosi gives the track a more brutal workout with heavily saturated sounds across the mix providing a overloaded underground take on the track. Tension is high throughout which works in contrast to the smooth arrangement of the track.
Ideal Flow goes with a more subtle approach to his take on the track with a sparse filtered down texture throughout leaving room for echos and stutter across the mix.

Paul D Lewis - I Hear Noises
The original track has a lo fi feel provided by gritty and grainy drum hits that build over the droning bassline. Sounds move across the mix with a dark ghoulish vocal groan reverberating underneath the track. Introducing a stabbing chord hit lifts the track and provides a new level of spookiness to the track.
D-Nemesis builds a slower groove over the textures and echos. The track is a brilliant blend of original sounds and new parts that work together throughout the arrangement.
Hefty builds a new groove throughout with his 'Paranoid' remix. Sticking with the lo fi feel he uses a downsampled lo fi snare sound and sparse percussion leaving lots of room for textures and reverbs to build.
Monktec builds a 8th note bassline over stripped back percussion that drives the track forward. Ghoulish vocal sounds swell and move into the background of the mix throughout while original hits and sounds from the original move across the arrangement.
