Press Release

LUNG016 - DivKid - Whah EP

The Whah EP will be the 16th release for UK label - Lung Filler Records. It features original electro-house track 'Whah' from Divkid along with a range remix, including
Autophase (progressive house), Feedback (Electro), Deep Infect (Tech House), Paul D Lewis (Minimal-Techno) and Alex Grekov (Techno).

Original

Whah gets it's name from the 'whah' sounding sythns that have been bit-crushed and filtered. The track is firmly based in the Electro-House genre. The track starts with the DJ friendly intro and chord cuts that grow in progression. The song comes to a prompt holt for the breakdown where you hear the full progression and the cheeky 'whah' synths. The song's peak sees the chord progression and lead line grow in harmony and intensity, along with the pace of the drums. The track ends with a simple DJ friendly outro.

Autophase Remix

Autophase have decided to create an uplifting progressive style track by taking the synths from the original track and embedding them into their own heavy drum beat and pad textures. The track incurs new melodies and textures that work perfectly with the original parts.
The arrangement journeys through numerous breakdowns, whilst constantly introducing textures, melodies and percussion. Each break down and drop feels new and uplifting.

Feedback Remix

Feedback has created a filthy cut up sounding electro house remix. He started the track using the original lead line and chords in a rather wonky sounding way. He adds his own wet sounds before getting down to the filthy cut up drop. The breakdown consists of the wonky sounding chords and his own synth work out that creates plenty of tension, before going back to the huge sounding dirty electro peak. We works in the cut up chords and original parts to give huge pace and energy to the track.

Deep Infect Remix

Deep Infect are taking an entirely different approach, creating an amazing tech-house groove and incorporating the bass line, chords and lead line from the original The bass is deep and subby which works perfectly with the percussive groove and vocal cuts. The lead line is played on an old school synth sound that has added harmonies. This gives the lead line a chromatic harmony which gives it tension before the groove kicks back in full pelt.

Paul D Lewis

Paul stick to his very dark and ominous sounds. His bass growls and lo-fi style snare gives the track a very forbidding feel. The track starts with a flatline sound effect synth and introduces the drums and bass, before dropping to the chords from the original. The original chords in this context give the track a very nostalgic feel. The track moves between the chords, lo-fi glitch sounds and the heavy bass quickly, yet smoothly. This gives the track a feeling of anxiety. The song finishes with a DJ friendly drums outro with a triplet percussion pattern and the lo-fi glitches from the original track.

Alex Grekov

Alex's techno remix starts with a DJ friendly intro, that builds up quickly in terms of pace and dynamics. He uses a subby bass and synth pops to drive the song forward into the original chord progression. The song grows back into the subby techno groove where Alex adds his own bed of subtle sound effects, wet synths and white noises. He reverts back to the original chords for an extended breakdown, before dropping into the powerful, yet modest groove of his own techno style. The track winds down with a drums and bass outro, coupled with reverberant synth shots.
