P-Styles - Control EP
P-Styles is back with new original material on Lung Filler Records. The Control EP features the original track 'Control' along with remixes from Mass Digital, Rob Nutek, Stereo Cartel and Johnny Trotter. Plus the free download of the original '2010' mix.
The original features P-Styles' signature brand of driving techno. With a wide stereo image, plenty of percussion developing through the arrangement and so much drive it feels like a faster BPM that it actually is. A dark vocal sample colours the ominous chords to form a strong a driving techno track.
Mass Digital introduces a triplet percussion that spatters across the mix of developing effects and textures. Slowly he introduces the original sounds, as the track grows through an organic arrangement that is more stripped down than the original.
Rob Nutek sticks with the original driving theme and builds developing tech house rhythms over smooth house grooves. The original vocal sample pushes through the mix of the original synth hits and Rob's own jackin' house grooves.
Stereo Cartel develops percussion over a solid drum groove and deep driving sub bass rhythm. The mix features lots of original sounds heavily edited and spread across a new set of rhythms and smooth arrangement.
Rounding off the remixes, Johnny Trotter strips thing back with a more minimal feel. The mix has a saturated quality that gives the track a real dirty edge. It features multiple breakdowns as the track develops and builds tension before releasing the tough techno groove the track is based on.
To finish the EP P-Styles presents the '2010' mix, which is available as a free download. The track has a more progressive feel with held pad sounds and 'cleaner' house style percussion patterns.
